Y10 GCSE Art and Design

Focusing on new methods ready for exams

Year 10 GCSE Art and Design department students turn their focus to the methods of silkscreen printing; a technique many will go on to use in some of their final assessed pieces. The students had prepared by creating a design, which they brought to the session to then skilfully cut out, forming an intricate template. Students were also experimenting with creating coloured backgrounds through techniques such as flicking and blowing through straws. This combination of skills leads to a really striking finish.

It was so pleasing to see the students gripped with the work; the opportunity to develop a specialist technique and explore their creativity under the expert guidance of Mrs Livingstone and Mr Wyvill.
