Monkshouse Primary School visits SGS

An enjoyable and educational experience, even if a little messy...

We were delighted to welcome the Yr6 children from Monkshouse Primary School on 24th February 2017. The children are currently learning about the heart in their science lessons. Mrs Wright and Mrs Wheatley, Yr6 teachers, felt they would benefit from seeing and feeling one for themselves - which they did!

Miss Lamb walked them through a 'hands-on' practical of a heart disection combined with a lesson on the heart and its primary functions.  Apparently they were "still buzzing" a week later!

When they were not busy disecting, the children took part in a French lesson, which they thoroughly enjoyed, and impressed both Madame Gamble and Ms Howard with their knowledge and enthusiasm.
