County Lines Intensification Week across Lincolnshire #Lookcloser

This week is County Lines intensification week across Lincolnshire. We are focusing on how we can PREVENT county lines by helping to make vulnerable people aware of the risks and to recognise if they are being pressured. Please see the leaflet attached below.

  • County Lines is a term used when gangs and drug dealers from one area, generally cities, come to other areas and exploit vulnerable people into dealing drugs, other crime, and exploitation. It can involve violence and intimidation.
  • County Lines is here in Lincolnshire. The gangs involved are exploiting people from the local area, and others who are coming to Lincolnshire. This involves violence, weapons, threats, drugs and other crimes.
  • The ‘Look Closer’ campaign encourages the public to look closer at people around them, and by doing so they may spot the signs of vulnerability and exploitation, which can then be reported to Police or Crime Stoppers.
  • Crime Stoppers is a free phone number or email. 0800 555 111. Young people also have the availability to report through FEARLESS.ORG (Young arm to crime stoppers) which has an anonymous reporting form alongside a “hide” button if they are disturbed whilst reporting.
  • We are asking people to Look Closer at people around them and if they think that there are concerns then to ring the Police.

The “Are you listening” video has been created to encourage people to look closer at the young and more vulnerable people around them :  https://vimeo.com/474667050/69b22a952b
