Welcome Message
Dear Parents, Carers and Pupils,
Congratulations on reaching this exciting stage in your educational journey. As you explore our school website and prospectus while considering your options for secondary education, thank you for taking the time to learn more about Spalding Grammar School.
This period of transition is full of opportunity, but it can also feel a little daunting. I hope the information we share not only inspires you about the possibilities ahead but also helps you feel confident that Spalding Grammar School is the right place for you and your child.
As you read and, we hope, visit, you will see that our work to help new students settle in begins long before they walk through our gates in September. Any initial worries about starting a new school, for both you and your child, are eased through our carefully planned induction programme and soon replaced with excitement.
Once your child joins us, they will experience an academic curriculum taught by subject specialists in facilities that have benefited from significant investment in recent years, with further improvements ongoing. Our curriculum is rigorous, as you would expect from a selective grammar school, but it is also rooted in aspirational and inclusive teaching strategies to ensure every student makes strong progress towards their goals.
We passionately believe that learning extends beyond the classroom. We are proud to offer a broad and varied enrichment programme, including sport, drama, music, work experience, student leadership, a wide range of trips and visits, and our impressive Extended Learning Week.
Our students take part enthusiastically and successfully, contributing greatly to the life and ethos of the School while developing their own interests and character.
Our pastoral care is as strong as our academic provision. Students and their families build meaningful relationships with Form Tutors, Pastoral Support Staff, Heads of Year and the wider Pastoral Team, ensuring that there is always someone available to listen, support and guide.
We recognise that every child is unique, and some may require additional support. Our dedicated Additional Needs team works closely with students to ensure they feel a sense of belonging and experience continuity and inclusion in their education.
We know that young people thrive when they feel happy, supported, and valued. That is why we place great emphasis on building strong relationships between students, home, and School. We are proud of the respect, trust and sense of community that underpin daily life at Spalding Grammar School.
If you are looking for a school where your child is encouraged to embrace every opportunity, show resilience and commitment, think deeply, and be valued as an individual, then Spalding Grammar School is the right place for them.
