Uniform Requirements

Years 7–11

Taking pride in your appearance is important. The school uniform allows our students to look smart and builds a sense of common identity.  The correct uniform includes:

  • Hair: neat and not extreme in fashion (e.g. no unnatural colours or shaved shorter than grade 2)
  • School Blazer
  • House tie or school achievement tie: (e.g. SGS sports/music). The coloured stripe must be fully visible.
  • Plain white shirt: Top button must be fastened, and shirt tails tucked in.
  • Black Trousers: "Jeans-style" or skinny-fit not permitted.
  • Black/dark grey socks: (not PE socks)
  • Black Formal Leather Shoes: Canvas shoes or trainers not permitted.
  • School badges: (e.g. House team, library assistant tec). Other badges are not permitted.
  • Optional plain dark jumper: Hoodies, zipped tops or jumpers with logos are not permitted.

All clothes and other possessions should be clearly marked with the student's name.

  • Prohibition signs General prohibition sign, ISO 7010, foil, self-adhesive,  200 mm, Pack = 10 unitsProhibited items: Earrings, tattoos, piercings, make-up and jewellery (other than a watch) are not permitted. Wristbands not permitted, other than those supporting whole-school charities.

 

School Bags

Small/medium-sized rucksacks or messenger-style bags may be brought to school to carry books and equipment. For safety reasons, large bags (e.g. holdalls or large rucksacks) are not permitted to be carried around school. PE bags may be placed into the provided sports lockers at the start of the day for those students who have PE on that day.

PE Kit
  • White kit (indoor/summer lessons): white polo shirt, navy shorts, white socks, trainers
  • Blue kit (outdoor) 'two-blues' rugby shirt, navy shorts, 'two-blues' navy socks, football/rugby boots

Note: Items of PE kit (e.g. white/navy socks) must not be worn before/after lessons.
