Game 1: 3-1 Win vs Royal Hospital School
Against physical opposition, the boys’ superior technical ability prevailed with goals from W. Taylor, J. Baker & T. Amess.
Game 2: 5-1 Win vs Saffron Walden CHS
A great display by our defence and goalkeeper against a dangerous side allowed goals from G. Halgarth (2), M. Bland, J. Baker and S. Smith to secure a second victory.
Game 3: 7-0 Win vs Chigwell School
An outstanding team performance saw the team dominate from start to finish with goals from G. Halgarth (3), J. Baker (2), M. Bland and J. Synnott.
Game 4: 3-1 Win vs Norwich School
Following an hour break, the boys fell behind to Norwich but fought back in excellent style to win thanks to goals by J. Baker (2) & M. Bland.
Game 5: 1-2 Loss to Hitchin Boys’ School
In the final game of the day, Hitchin were impressive but our goalkeeper A. Whittaker was fantastic to keep us in the game. Although J. Baker scored late, there wasn’t time for an equaliser.
A very proud Mrs. Harrison-Wild and an ‘almost’ hockey converted Mr. Morgan were amazed by the quality of hockey the boys produced today. They were a credit to both SGS and their local clubs. 🏑
