Primary Liaison Visits

Students who took part in our Primary School Liaison visits have been thanked for their efforts. Mrs Hoyles successfully co-ordinated the project, along with Mr Endersbee. 
Boys from Years 7, 8 and 12 visited feeder schools to give an insight into life at Spalding Grammar to Year 5 pupils. The presentation was aimed at making the transition to secondary school life smoother and less daunting, by being able to ask SGS students questions about any worries they have. Our students also spoke about their own transitions and how they felt and ways to start preparing now for life at secondary school.
In the majority of cases the SGS students were returning to their former primary school.
During a whole school assembly on Monday, all the SGS students were acknowledged for their presentations and awarded certificates.

We had really good feedback about our students’ maturity when giving their presentations. It was great to see the enthusiasm of the year 5 pupils when they were being told about lessons, sports, clubs and the trips we offer here at SGS.

St Johns primary school commented that their boys were saying that they hoped to go to the Grammar school and they seemed much more relaxed about the move into secondary school.
