Remembrance Service
Rev. J Bennett leads the whole school assembly in recognition of the end of WW1
With readings from Head Boy, William Gurney, Deputy Head Girl Jasmin Pang and Deputy Head Boy, Jonathan Manton, the whole school gathered today to hear stories of both sorrow and joy of WW1 Veterans.
The Headmaster, Mr Wilkinson, spoke of the torment in the world today and mentioned the strong links Spalding Grammar School has with the World Wars and how important it is to remember. Rev. J Bennett lead prayers of courage for those at war and strength for us today.
After The Last Post, played by Toby Walters (Y9), Mr Wilkinson read the Exhortation leading us to the 2 minute silence and The Kohima Epitaph followed by the moving solo of The Reveille.
It is always humbling to see the 900+ staff and students lowering their heads in thought on what is a day of overwhelming emotion for so many.
